Keeping your dorm room clean is relatively easy if you have the right cleaning supplies and a little motivation. Most students should be fine with a simple broom and dustpan, but you can always bring a vacuum if you want. Some dorms also allow you to check one out from the front desk if you ever need one.
Some colleges provide students with a small wastebasket, but in most cases that means sharing it with your roommate. Trash can accumulate quickly in dorm rooms, so having a personal trash can is an easy way to keep your living area clean.
College dorms are full of germs and bacteria, so we recommend using the CDC’s two-step cleaning and disinfecting process on all surfaces in your room. Most students bring a small bottle of all-purpose cleaner spray and some disinfecting wipes.
Students with private bathrooms should bring a pack of sponges to clean their sink and shower. Having a few cleaning rags is also helpful for getting dust off surfaces and cleaning up larger messes.
